Don't forget me

I am off for a few days away from the blog. I thought I would leave my favourite strike of the past few days to remind you of me.

Well, OK, he has got a bit more skill, hair and money than I do. But so what?

Back soon...

the keeper helped him out a lot, even if it was a great kick

...it was a sublime strike. How the hell did he generate so much power from a couple of paces (if that) ? I'd love to know what excercises he does (some form of plyometrics I guess). He probably lives on a diet of spinich as well.

There was an interesting interview with Pirlo in the Gazzetta this week where he said that he has adjusted his free kick technique on the basis of things he has learned from world class volleyball players about they put spin on their serves.

He puts a lot of work into that particular aspect of his game, and it shows, though it is much easier for me to appreciate it when he is playing for the Azzurri.

Pat's right about the keeper, btw. Poor positioning and completely bamboozled by the flight of the ball.
