Hello, I must be going...

What more can you do? You take a club of no-hoper Galacticos and turn them into league winners and what happens? You get replaced by Bernd Schuster!

At least, that seems to be the script for Fabio Capello at Real Madrid. OK, his team did not play great football but by God they had balls - something that had been missing in the Bernabeu since about - his last time on the bench. Still, apparently he and supremo Calderon don't see eye to eye, so there is only going to be one winner.

The intriguing thing to me is how exactly Schuster is going to change things. Having watched his Getafe side a few times they seem just as dirty as he was as a player. Not convinced that will be a great upgrade from Don Fabio. Still, it does leave the intriguing prospect of Capello on the loose. Maybe he will finally get the job in England he has always craved...

England Ginkers? Have you heard something?

Don Fabio will be able to pick his job. There might be a vacancy at Barcelona soon, now that would be a story.

I read that he said he wanted a foriegn national job or he would retire if Real cut him loose.

Although I agree that a big EPL club may tempt him, I remember before he left Juve last summer that he was talking about his desire to manage over there.

But which club? the only one of the big 4 he has a chance at, imo, is Arsenal, if Wenger decides to leave.

It would be interesting to see how he handled such a young and currently attacking minded team.

It's the Real Madrid way I'm afraid. Look what they did to the last successful manager they had (can't remember his name - the chubby chap with the tash). They sacked him on the last day of the season in which he'd the CL for them.

It would be great to see Capello in the EPL. But as Pat says the only *possibility* of a vacancy looks like the Arsenal job. But you never know Man city might tempt him :0) Now that would be a story !!

...his name is Vicente del Bosque. In the 4 seasons that he coached Real Madrid he won :-

2 x Champions League
2 x La Liga
1 x European Super Cup
1 x World Club Cup

And they decided not to renew his contract after he'd won La Liga for the second time. Capello never stood a chance did he ?

Martino

I havent heard anything just know he has always craved a job here. I wondered if maybe a big money takeover at Man City might tempt him to try to upset Fergie on the other side of town? Unlikely I guess. Maybe he will sit and lay in wait for Steve McLaren...

See above. Either the top four or perhaps the England national team. Or what about Rafa getting the boot early at Liverpool?

It is not only Real, I suppose. In Italy the traditional treat for Coaches who win their team promotion from Serie B is to get the sack!
