A strange night

All credit to Roma for overwhelming the Viola in the second half on Sunday night but it was a strange night from a purple perspective. We started off so well that even the absence of Toni was hardly noticed. But in the second half we were a different team.

A lot of the honour has to go to the Giallorossi who came out transformed but just the same I was disappointed with my boys. Reginaldo looked a bit out of his depth and we were a bit unfortunate with deflections that ended up at Taddei's feet but it was still a worrying display. Still, I guess Atalanta this weekend is more what I should be worried about and the pursuit of points to get us off this darned zero...

I couldn't agree more, except obviosuly for substituting euphoric for disappointed. Christ knows what Spalletti said to them at half-time, it was like watching two completely different matches. La Viola just seemed to fade as we improved.

Still onwards and upwards - I don't really want to see you go down. And after all, it's only Atalanta next, it seems unlikely that they could convincingly beat any decent oppostion... oh. wait.

They are in quite good form but I am hoping if we get Toni back we will be too strong. It's one team at a time for us with Reggina overtaken (subject to their arbitration) and Chievo next in our sights.

As for Roma, if they could find a real striker they would be the only credible contender to Inter - I think Palermo will fade in time. Tough game this weekend mind you although Milan are struggling for points too.

Maybe we should appeal again to see if we can get the penalty reduced further.

Thanks to Bravo I got to see the game and I'm now confident we'll avoid relegation.

'all your celtic needs'

would it be very upsetting if I said that I've never really had, um, well, any celtic needs?

I'd only be upset if you had Rangers needs :o)

Just wait until we come to Rome in the last 16 of the Champions League. You'll fall in love with the Biancoverdi.
