Some surprises - and Inter...

In the end it was only Inter who let down Italy in Europe in the Champs League. I made the mistake of watching their clash with Sporting Lisbon not Roma's impressive 4-0 victory over Donetsk. It was drab, dull and uninspiring as Inter have often treated us to in Europe. The Giallorossi, by all accounts, took their time to break down their opponents but when they did - they did it in some style.

As for Milan, they looked pretty good and I was particularly impressed by Gourcuff or however it is spelled. Oliveira looked less stellar but luckily for the Rossoneri old Pippo was in full swing.

Now bring on the UEFA!

am begrudringly impressed anew this season by Pippo, who I cordially dislike. 5 goals in 5 games now... not bad for an old fella.

let's hope Palermo don't get all overwhelmed by the thought of Tevez, Mascherano and, er, Marlon Harewood.

and Rinaldi: always a mistake not to watch the giallorossi when you have the chance ;-)

And more good results in the UEFA for the Italiani, especially Palermo.

I just love the first round of the UEFA Cup, purely for the names of some of the teams involved. Look at last night when we had

Rabotnicki Kometal, Ethnikos Achnas, Randers FC, IK Start, FC Superfund, Zulte-Waregem, Metallurg Zaporizhzhya and Rubin Kazan.

And a big well done to Derry City for their draw with PSG.
