I know he is a good player and all that but is all the ballyhoo about Frank Lampard worthwhile? Would he really transform Inter into Champions League contenders? Or is it just a show of strength from the Nerazzurri and Mourinho?

i think Lamps is completely wrong for any Serie A side. For me he is much too English. And whether one thinks that is a good, bad or indifferent thing to be, it certainly means that at the age of 30 it will probably be too much for Lamps to adjust. Sheva certainly couldn't do it going the other way at the same age.
I'm with Pat. If he goes, then we'll see just how good and adaptable he really is. I'm all in favour of English/British players going abroad. Just as others come the others way. On the whole, it can only improve their individual game. I personally think that he will get found out, but then I've always seen him as little more than a straight running midfield blunderbuss. And as Pat hints, at the age of 30 it's a bit late to be reinventing your game.
Still, good luck to him. I hope he goes, and I hope it works out for him. I'd like to see more of it.
I have my reservations too. Just finished reading the latest 4-4-2 about the Brits Abroad and certainly, in Italy, there have been more failures than success stories.
